Sourcing Policies

These Sourcing Policies outline the guidelines for businesses using the Make it in the Emirates platform (“Platform”) to find and connect with suppliers, manufacturers, and other businesses (collectively referred to as “Suppliers”). By using the Platform for sourcing, you agree to comply with these policies, our Terms and Conditions, and all applicable laws and regulations.

 

Eligibility for Sourcing

  • Registered Businesses: Only registered businesses with active accounts on the Platform may use the sourcing features.

  • Legitimate Business Purposes: The Platform’s sourcing functionalities must be used for legitimate business purposes, such as finding suppliers for products, materials, or services required for your operations.

 

Sourcing Practices

  • Accurate Information: You must provide accurate and complete information when contacting Suppliers or submitting requests for quotes (RFQs). Misrepresenting your business needs or providing false information is prohibited.

  • Professional Conduct: All communication with Suppliers through the Platform must be professional, respectful, and courteous. Any form of harassment, abuse, or unethical behavior is strictly prohibited.

  • Clear Requirements: Clearly and concisely communicate your sourcing requirements, including product specifications, quantities, quality standards, delivery terms, and any other relevant details.

  • Fair Consideration: When evaluating Suppliers, you should do so fairly and objectively, based on factors such as price, quality, reliability, and the Supplier’s ability to meet your needs.

  • Compliance with Laws: All sourcing activities conducted through the Platform must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including those related to fair competition, anti-bribery, and ethical sourcing.

 

Supplier Interaction

  • Direct Communication: The Platform facilitates direct communication between buyers and Suppliers. You are responsible for managing your interactions and negotiations with Suppliers.

  • Due Diligence: You are responsible for conducting your own due diligence on Suppliers, including verifying their credentials, certifications, and capabilities. Make it in the Emirates does not endorse or guarantee the quality, reliability, or legitimacy of any Supplier listed on the Platform.

  • Agreements and Contracts: Any agreements or contracts entered into with Suppliers are solely between you and the Supplier. Make it in the Emirates is not a party to these agreements and is not responsible for their terms or enforcement.

 

Prohibited Activities

  • Spamming and Unsolicited Communications: Sending unsolicited messages or spam to Suppliers is strictly prohibited.

  • Misleading or Deceptive Practices: Engaging in any misleading or deceptive practices, such as requesting quotes with no genuine intention to purchase, is prohibited.

  • Circumventing the Platform: Attempting to circumvent the Platform by directly contacting Suppliers outside of the Platform’s communication tools for the purpose of avoiding any applicable fees or tracking is prohibited.

  • Sharing Confidential Information: You are responsible for protecting your own confidential information and should not request or disclose sensitive business information unless necessary and under appropriate confidentiality agreements.

 

Request for Quote (RFQ) Functionality (If Available)

  • Genuine Requests: Any RFQs submitted through the Platform must be for genuine sourcing needs.

  • Detailed Specifications: Provide clear and detailed specifications in your RFQs to enable Suppliers to provide accurate and competitive quotes.

  • Timely Responses: You should make reasonable efforts to respond to quotes received from Suppliers in a timely manner.

 

Feedback and Reviews

  • Honest Feedback: You may be able to provide feedback or reviews on Suppliers you have interacted with through the Platform. Any feedback provided should be honest, objective, and based on your actual experience.

  • No Defamatory Content: You must not post any defamatory, libelous, or false statements about Suppliers.

 

Reporting Violations

  • Reporting Mechanism: Users are encouraged to report any violations of these Sourcing Policies to Make it in the Emirates through the designated reporting mechanism on the Platform.

  • Investigation and Action: Make it in the Emirates will investigate reported violations and take appropriate action, which may include issuing warnings, suspending accounts, or removing users from the Platform.

Make it in the Emirates provides a platform to facilitate connections between buyers and Suppliers. We are not responsible for the actions, conduct, or performance of any Supplier. All sourcing transactions and interactions are conducted at your own risk.

 

By using the Make it in the Emirates Platform for sourcing, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Sourcing Policies. We may update these policies from time to time, and your continued use of the Platform for sourcing constitutes your acceptance of any revisions. Please review these policies periodically for any changes.
